ISLAM IS INTRODUCED TO US IN A TWISTED WAY
How do we came to know about Islam? Or, more relevant question would be ‘how I came to know Islam?’ A non-muslim will say through some friends, or media, or Shahrukh or Amir or whichever Khan you like or one of my teacher was a Muslim and so on. So basically it’s from a ‘third person’. But a Muslim will say: well, I am born as a Muslim. Fair enough. But my question was not about your birth but about HOW YOU came to know Islam? Now the answer is through my parents or family. That’s the basic answer. And how the parents came to know about Islam? Through their parents unless and until they are reverts. So we know Islam through our parents, our parents knows Islam through theirs and the chain goes on AND the non-Muslims having direct interactions with us, learn about Islam through us.
Now my first point, if you ask any Muslim about what Islam says, they will answer it’s all in ‘Al-Qur’an and authorized hadiths’. Few people will say only ‘Al-Qur’an’. My second point, as I said, Muslims know Islam from parents. That’s the initiation level. Now if you ask any muslim in India, or in a world for that matter, about their religion, mass majority will say ‘Islam’ but if you push by saying ‘what type of muslim’, now here you will get all the TWISTED answers: Sunni, Shia, Wahhabi, Ahmadi, Salafi, Baii, Tableeg, Ahal-e-hadith, Ahal-e-Quran and what not. And there are scholars from all of these sects shouting and claiming that their sect is superior and pious than others and they are the true Muslims. Now I will again go back to my first point- Qur’an and Hadith. It’s in Qur’an not to get divided and also quoted in hadith that no one has the superiority over another one. So all the people who are differentiating among the Muslims, being a Muslim, are going against the words of the greatest supreme power of the universe, Allah. People come up with lame examples that first they started naming themselves so we also named our group just to differentiate us from them; forgetting the fact that Allah azzwajal has not permitted us to differentiate. And the seed of these sects are so deeply and passionately sown that people are not even ready to listen. If you ask these question to the scholars (not all scholars believe in sects but majority of them do) then they give the threat that it’s not permissible in Islam to ask question! Silly and insane reply of them. When Allah (swt) has not stopped us to ask questions then how come these mullahs are threating us for asking the questions. And moreover, it’s their duty to answer our questions otherwise what is the use of their studies? It’s the second part where Islam gets twisted. First by teaching us about sects instead of Islam and second by threating us when we have questions.
Third point is especially for the non-Muslims, specifically for the Hindus (or Sanatan dharma followers). There are several question like Muslims don’t do surya namaskar, muslims don’t sing Vande Mataram so how can they call themselves patriotic? The answer is simple: because Islam doesn’t allow to betray anyone. Coming to the point why NO-surya namaskar & Vande Matarm. People need to understand that Islam is based on monotheism. Which means to worship one and only one God. That’s it. Muslims even don’t worship Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). Although it’s in Islam to respect and to be thankful for the blessings of Allah (swt) like rivers, seas, mountains, stars, parents, off springs, trees, elders, young ones, etc. But one need to understand that Muslims don’t worship these things, they cannot... So just because Muslims don’t pray to Sun and Motherland it doesn’t mean they are not patriotic. Muslims can be patriotic and they are patriotic because they have to. They cannot betray anyone (though many Muslims do but again, this act is not Islamic). And in ‘anyone’ includes everyone. It’s a ‘Hindu way’ to worship motherland and sun but it’s not Islamic. A muslim paying tax, taking care of his neighbors, not backbiting, not spreading rumors, feeding the hungry, taking care if poor, ills and orphans, giving proper education to the children (to both: boy and girl), a muslim not harming anyone.. That’s Islamic law (or Sharia) and that’s how Muslim should be. That’s how Islam teaches Muslims to live.
The fourth point is culture.
Islam’s origin is Saudi Arabia. No doubt. And here is the fourth twist! People mindset is that Arab culture is Islam which is entirely wrong. Even if all the Arabic speaking countries or people or Muslim dominated lands call themselves ‘Islamic country’, they are not Islamic. They are just having ‘Muslims as a majority or as a whole population’ but they are not Islamic unless they follow the Islamic laws (many of which I have stated above). Now one thing I love to add here is that many laws which are termed as ‘Islamic’ but in actual they are not like- not letting the ladies to drive (in Iran), not giving freedom of speech (like in Saudi Arabia), dictatorship (like ISIS is having) etc. In addition, as I said in the very beginning that Islam has Arabic as its language so people should give a thought about the very commonly used Arabic words. Many times, say out of 10, 8 times, because of media or arrogance or lack of understanding, people take these Arabic words in a wrong way. Few are as follows:

Kaafir = the one who don’t believe in Allah. There is nothing offensive in being called a ‘kaafir’. Just like we have the word ‘atheist’ in English, its ‘kaafir’ in Arabic. But here is one catch: Atheist means not to believe in ANY GOD but Kaafir means not to believe in Allah. So if somebody is atheist that means that person is in the category of ‘kuffars’ or ‘kaafir’ but if somebody is Kaafir then either the person is an atheist or that person believes in some other religion. Now what if someone believes in Allah and associates ‘others’ with him? There are two terms: Muna’fik (one who pretends to believe in Allah but in reality is not) and Mushrik (One who associates others with Allah as a God)
Jihad = everyone love this word. Don’t they? wink emoticon Jihad simply means ‘to struggle for the right’. Like, a child walks several kilometers for school, or parents working day and night for the bright future of their children, soldiers protecting the country, an individual trying hard to overcome the failures etc. This is what Jihad is. Many people associates jihad with the acts of terrorists group which is wrong. Jihad is not about killing in the name of Allah but it’s about overcoming the difficulties while doing good.
To conclude I will just say one line- If you want to know Islam, read Qur’an. Its available in almost every language as a translated form. Qur’an is unchanged.
Thanks for giving the time. If any doubt, feel free to ask.
